POSTPARTUM INFORMATION - EMOTIONS/BABY 'BLUES'
Up to 80% of mothers will find that they become more sensitive during the first two weeks postpartum, this is normal and is usually known as the baby ‘blues’.
It is not unusual to cry inconsolably sometime within the first two weeks postpartum for ‘no apparent reason’, these postpartum emotions occurs from the hormonal changes in a woman after childbirth.
Even though it is undoubtedly the most joyous time in your life, you may be feeling mixed emotions by feeling ‘blue’ one moment, only to be laughing the next moment. Motherhood can be overwhelming and wanting to provide the safest and most secure environment for your baby is natural.
